Jordan’s Queen Rania hosted a pre-wedding henna celebration for her future daughter-in-law Rajwa Al-Saif, who is set to marry Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II in Amman on June 1.

The wedding is a big occasion for Jordanians and Saudis. Rajwa Al-Saif is the daughter of Saudi businessman Khalid Al-Saif and was educated in Saudi Arabia before pursuing her university education in the United States, where she studied architecture at Syracuse University.

The festivities are underway for what is set to be the biggest royal wedding of 2023.

Celebrations began on May 22 at the Royal Hashemite Court’s Madareb Bani Hashem. Queen Rania hosted a henna party for her future daughter-in-law at Madareb Bani Hashem.

Rania’s daughters Princess Iman and Princess Salma were among the guests, along with the mother of the bride, Azza Al Sudairi.

Al-Saif looked stunning in an ethereal white creation by Saudi designer Honayda Serafi. The designer said that Rajwa “wanted to wear something very modest and something from Saudi Arabian culture, but with a modern twist”.

Rania says future daughter-in-law is the “Perfect Answer” to her prayers

During her speech, Queen Rania recalled the moment when her son decided to ask for Rajwa’s hand in marriage. “I’ll never forget how happy his majesty and I were when Al Hussein told us he wanted to marry Rajwa,” she said. “She is the perfect answer to all my prayers for him. May you always be each other’s source of happiness and support.”

She assured Rajwa’s mother, Azza, that the royal family will always support her daughter. “We and Al Hussein will take the very best care of Rajwa,” she says. “This is her country, and she is among her family and her people.”

The couple were engaged at the home of Al-Saif’s father in Riyadh last August.
