Photos: US Consulate employees wed Pakistani style in Karachi

Who doesn’t love a Pakistani wedding? Our local weddings are full of colours, flowers, traditional music and dance, beautiful and gleaming dresses, and variety of delicious foods.

These remarkable features of Pakistani wedding ceremonies are the reason that many foreigners love to attend the local weddings.

Recently, employees of the US consulate enjoyed Pakistani style marriage ceremony to celebrate their love for Pakistani culture.

A traditional ‘dholki’ was organised for US employees by their Pakistani colleagues who seemed as excited as the couple.

In a colorful post on Facebook, US Consulate Karachi shared fun-filled images of the dholki. The images showed the staff and friends enjoying local traditions of a Pakistani ‘mehndi’ complete with bangles, singing and dancing at a venue decorated in traditional Pakistani style canopies, carpets and flowers specifically marigolds.
