Facebook will partner with Nayatel, one of the major internet services providers in Pakistan, to provide high-speed internet across the country. Facebook will invest in fiber build and provide support network planning while Nayatel will be responsible for building, maintaining, and operating the new network. The new network will help Nayatel provide wholesale capacity to new ISPs and mobile operators.

The project will bring higher speed internet to eight cities, which will improve the usage quality for an estimated 10 to 15 million people. The project is expected to start delivering results in 2022.

The main aim of the project is to improve the quality of the internet and connectivity in Pakistan and across the region. In today’s economy, high-speed internet can help create more jobs and create greater opportunities for skilled workers.
