Pakistan recorded first ever T20 World Cup win over India without losing a wicket
Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan conquered the day as Pakistan celebrates its historic triumph against India at the Twenty20 World Cup. This was Pakistan’s recorded first-ever T20 World Cup win over India.
Pakistan didn’t just beat their greatest rivals but did so in the most emphatic fashion by reaching the target of 152 without losing a single wicket.
The loss is not only India’s first at a World Cup to Pakistan but is also their first-ever 10-wicket defeat in T20 internationals, according to ICC.
The openers Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan outshone. Rizwan was at his brilliant best, slapping six fours and three sixes in a 55-ball 79, while Babar was classical while scoring 68 off 52 balls with six fours and two sixes.
“Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan’s 152-run partnership for Pakistan was not just a match-winning stand, but also the biggest opening partnership in the history of the Men’s T20 World Cup and Pakistan’s second-biggest partnership in a T20I for any wicket” according to ICC.
Shaheen Afridi won the player of the match award for his dismantling of the Indian top order.
