Pakistan welcomes scheduled visit of Duke and Duchess of Cambridge

Prince William and Kate Middleton to Visit Pakistan this fall for the first time

Prince William and Kate Middleton are set to visit Pakistan in the fall, Kensington Palace announced on Saturday.

“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will undertake an official visit to Pakistan at the request of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office,” a statement from the palace read. “The visit will take place in the Autumn.”

The trip will mark Kate and William’s first visit to Pakistan.

William’s mother Princess Diana visited the country, which is a member of the Commonwealth, various times throughout her life, and Queen Elizabeth made the trip in 1961 and 1997.

This royal tour will mark the first major official tour the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will undertake since their third son, Prince Louis, one, was born in April last year. It’s unknown if the children, Princes George and Louis, and Princess Charlotte, will accompany their parents on the tour.
