The Commerce Ministry of Pakistan is going to conduct the second Pakistan Africa Trade Development Conference (PATDC), under the Look Africa policy, at Lagos, Nigeria from 23rd to 25th November this year, according to a press release issued on Friday.
The Advisor to the Prime Minister on Commerce and Investment, Abdul Razak Dawood lead a meeting on initiatives of product and geographical diversification being observed under the MOC’s Look Africa Policy, where he was informed about the 2nd PATDC taking place at the end of November, said the press release.
The purpose of this second trade development conference is to serve the Western part of Africa. Buyers from Nigerian states and 15 countries of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) have been invited to the conference.
First Pakistan Africa Trade Development Conference was held in Jaunary last year in Nairobi, Kenya. It was conducted to cater to East African Countries.
As per the notification, Mr. Dawood will be leading the Pakistan Delegation comprising of senior officials from MOC and other governmental departments along with notable businessmen.
A Single Country Exhibition will also be held at the same time by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, which is the largest exhibition of Pakistan’s products in Africa. Many Pakistani companies will showcase their products in the exhibition and will have B2B meetings as well.

The press release said that 113 leading Pakistani business companies of the following fields have confirmed their participation in the Single Country Exhibition:

- cable

- chemicals
- IT
- Sports
The Advisor also highlighted his expected visit to Dakar, Senegal from 6th to 9th December to attend 17th Trade Fair of OIC and 25th International Trade Fair in which he will be meeting officials and businessmen from OIC.
Dawood applauded the MOC’s role in the implementation of the Look Africa policy initiative for geographical and product diversification.
