Army Cheif:No peace in region sans resolution of Kashmir issue

ISLAMABAD – Army Chief General Raheel Sharif Sunday warned the enemies that any aggression will leave the enemy with ‘unbearable loss. Addressing the central ceremony on golden jubilee of Defence Day held at the General Headquarters (GHQ), he said terrorists, supporters and facilitators would be brought to justice. He said establishment of peace in the region is not possible by ignoring the Kashmir dispute. Raheel Sharif said our armed forces are fully capable to frustrate any outside aggression. He said if the enemy tried to impose short or prolonged war on us, it will have to pay unbearable price. He said operation Zarb-e-Azb was started at a time when the chaotic forces were challenging the state of Pakistan and law and order situation in the country was at its lowest ebb. He said the incident of attack on Army Public School Peshwar was the worst example of brutality and tyranny. He said the sacrifices of martyred students and patience of their parents gave a new energy to nation’s determination to fight the menace of terrorism. He most of the terrorists involved in this incident have met their fate. Army Chief said armed forces and other security institutions through their sacrifices have established the writ and supremacy of the state. He also commended Pakistani media for playing a key role in war against terrorism by exposing real face of terrorists. He said it was a tough and complicated journey. He urged all the state institutions to play their due role to make this success complete and durable so that the objectives of the National Action Plan will be achieved soon–Daily Pakistan
