At least 50 people has been killed and hundreds wounded as a suspected person opened fire on music festival crowd at Las Vegas.

According to the latest updates, more than 50 people have been killed and more than 400 others injured in Las Vegas’ famous entertainment strip.

Police initially released death toll at 20 in the early morning just after a horrific night of violence that turned 50 casualties yet, which was confirmed by Las Vegas Metropolitan Police via their official twitter later.

People at festival said they initially heard a noise “like firecrackers”, but it became apparent a shooter was unloading “clip after clip” into the crowd, discharging hundreds of bullets using an automatic weapon.

Police said that the main suspect has been shot dead after they raided the hotel in Las Vegas. They have found several weapons in Paddock’s hotel room after the shooting.

Police officials were searching for Marilou Danley, who they identified as an Asian female roommate and companion traveling with the suspect, said Lombardo.

Police further added that two off-duty officers who were attending the concert were among those killed, Lombardo said. An on-duty officer was in critical condition and another was wounded.

Several officers from California were also in attendance. A Bakersfield Police officer was shot and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Kodiak Yazzie, 36, said he and his girlfriend were watching Aldean’s performance when he heard what sounded like fireworks.

The music stopped temporarily and started up again before another round of pops sent the performers ducking for cover and fleeing the stage.
