Azerbaijan Ambassador meets CJCSC Gen Nadeem, thank Pakistan for its support

Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Pakistan Ali Alizada called on General Nadeem Raza, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), at Joint Staff Headquarters, Rawalpindi. The two officials discussed matters of bilateral interest and regional security during the meeting.

Pakistan’s CJCSC reaffirmed the brotherly relationship between the countries built on strong foundations.

“Pakistan Armed Forces fully support Azerbaijan’s position on Nagorno-Karabakh, which is in line with the several unanimously adopted United Nations Security Council resolutions,” Gen Nadeem Raza said.

Fighting between Armenian and Azerbaijani troops over Nagorno-Karabakh continues ahead of crucial peace talks.

Azerbaijan holds press conference in Islamabad

In a press conference held in Islamabad on October 8, Military Attaché of Azerbaijan Col Mehman Novruzov shared hat the Azerbaijan army, after launching a counter offensive, has liberated 25 villages and one city. By October 7, the Armenian army had lost 250 tanks, 270 artillery pieces, 60 air defence systems and one S-300 air defence system.

As of October 8, a total of 31 Azerbaijan civilians, including children and elderly were killed, 154 civilians have been hospitalized with serious injuries. Around 928 private houses, 45 apartment buildings and 133 civilian infrastructures were damaged as a result of ruthless attack by Armenia in civilian areas of Azerbaijan.

Since September 27, 2020, Armenian armed forces continue to “intensively fire at densely populated residential areas, social, cultural and strategic facilities with use of artillery weapons, rockets, military aircrafts and prohibited cluster munitions.”

Fragments of more than 300 cluster bombs were scattered around which “is a serious threat and danger to the life and health of the civilian population” Azerbaijan officials said.

Azerbaijan Ambassador thanked Pakistan

In the presser, Ambassador of Azerbaijan Ali Alizada thanked Pakistan’s people, government and armed forces for their moral and diplomatic support and for endorsing Azerbaijan’s just cause.

Azerbaijan urges the world community to take a principled stand, and condemn Armenia’s aggressive actions as Armenia does not comply with the norms and principles of international law is regularly targeting more cities and other civilian settlements. “South Caucasus will never have peace and security until Armenia vacates the occupied lands” Ambassador Alizada said.
