China fully backs Pakistan’s sacrifices in war against terror that must be acknowledged

China has reaffirmed its continuing and pledged support for Pakistan in war against terrorism, both the countries agrees to work together for regional security

Chinese foreign minister assured Pakistan that the relationship between the countries will remain rock firm and unbreakable.

In a joint press conference, Pakistani Foreign Ministers of both the countries agreed that solution of the Afghan problem has to be a fundamentally political solution and that there is no military solution to the conflict.

The Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi asserted that China respects Pakistan’s interests and Pakistan’s efforts in countering terrorism must be acknowledged.

Wang Yi emphasised that China fully backs Pakistan in its fight against terrorism and we will continue to play its role in Pakistan’s progress and development.

Wang said peace in Afghanistan remains in interests of both China and Pakistan. “China wants improved relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan,” he added.

Pakistan’s foreign minister Khawaja Asif thanked China for its “unflinching support for Pakistan” in the war against terrorism and its commitment to Pakistan’s progress and development.

Khawaja Asif said the relations between China and Pakistan are exemplary and are based on history, mutual trust, equality, harmony, non-interference and common agenda of socioeconomic development.

He said Islamabad has profoundly reviewed US Afghan policy on South Asia and thinks that there is no military solution to Afghan conundrum.

Earlier, China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi received Khawaja Asif on his state visit to China to hold discussions on bilateral relations and matters of mutual interest in terms of regional and international strategies.

Pakistan’s foreign minister Khawaja Asif is accompanied by Lieutenant General (retd) Nasser Janjua — Pakistan’s national security adviser on his first Chinese visit as foreign minister.
