The terrorists were arrested after an encounter in Shah Latif Town in which one of the suspects was killed

The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) arrested five miscreants of foreign origin in Karachi, foiling a major terrorist that was being planned in the metropolis. The five terrorists have been found to have ties with India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) and Afghanistan’s National Directorate of Security (NDS). The court has remanded them into the police custody for further investigation into the matter until February 20th.

The suspects were arrested after an encounter in Shah Latif Town. One of the suspects died during the exchange of fire while the remaining five were arrested. They were planning on attacking key government buildings including the Sindh Assembly. They also prepared a rickshaw that would be laden with explosives to carry out terrorism.

Peaceful conditions

Pakistan has been mostly free from any kind of terrorism for the last few years. Small scale attacks have taken place on security forces but the law enforcers have been doing a great job and haven’t allowed any major attacks on the civilians or civilian installations. The good work by these officials should be duly rewarded for their good work. It should be ensured that the law enforcement agencies remain vigilant and ready to deal with such threats.

At the same time, it is important that the government highlights the ill designs of hostile intelligence agencies to the world. This will help Pakistan show the true image of the neighboring countries that harbor ill will towards the motherland.
