Eid Milad-un-Nabi celebrated with religious reverence in Pakistan

Enthusiastic Pakistanis decorated their houses, streets and mosques with lights and flags. Government buildings were also illuminated on 12th Rabi-ul-Awal.

Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) is being celebrated with religious zeal and reverence across the country today on 12 Dec. (Monday).

The day dawned with thirty-one gun salute in the federal capital and twenty-one gun salutes in all provincial capitals to pay homage to the last Prophet (SAW). Special prayers were offered after Namaz-e-Fajar for the unity of Muslim Ummah, progress and prosperity of Pakistan and early liberation of occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Like every year, the government of Pakistan has declared 12th December as a public holiday. All educational institutions and offices remained closed. As many as 40 cinema houses and theatres were closed as per the notification issued by the Government in Lahore.

Eid Milad un Nabi is Islamic festival is dedicated to Prophet Mohammad (S.A.W) and his teachings. It’s the birth anniversary of the Prophet and a day to remember the Islamic icon’s teachings, message. Processions were carried out in full swing in Pakistan as well, especially in Rawalpindi with 1541 processions were held to mark the birth of Prophet Mohammad.

A large number of citizens holding praising banners and placards, recited Darood and raise slogans during the processions to express their religious fervor and love for the Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W).

The enthusiastic youngsters decorated their houses and streets also Mosques, bazaars, markets, government buildings were lightened at the 12th Rabi-ul-Awal.

Various religious, social, cultural, educational and political organizations arranged special “Mahafil-e-Naat” events and ceremonies during which Ulema and Scholars highlighted various aspects of Seerat-un-Nabi (S.A.W) to mark the occasion to pay homage to the last Prophet (S.A.W) whose entire life and teachings are example of light for humankind.

In Lahore, Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has said that the 12th Rabi-ul-Awal remind us the golden principles of Islam which were practically exemplified in the life of Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W)

At the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi he gave message to the nation that “This day make us retrospect over the significance of lofty values of sacrifice, tolerance, brotherhood and unity among the ummah.”

“12th Rabi-ul- Awwal ended the history of inhumanity, oppression, tyranny, ignorance, injustice and deviation from the right path by purifying the human civilisation with the characteristics of dignity and forgiveness, the sanctity of culture, and, widening the scope of knowledge and thinking” he added.

He further said “On this day, we should reiterate our resolve to work for the progress and prosperity of the nation and the motherland”.

In Peshawar, the main parade generated from Milad Chowk last evening and today morning after passing through its traditional route the procession ended at Qissa-khwani Bazaar Main Peshawar.

Similarly, Eid Milad-un-Nabi (S.A.W) also been celebrated in Gilgit-Baltistan with religious zeal and passion. Mahafil-e-Naat program were organized at Gilgit and other districts to pay respect to the holy prophet Muhammad (S.A.W).

Like the other part of the country Eid Milad-un-Nabi (S.A.W) also been celebrated throughout Azad Jammu and Kashmir with full religious sanctity and enthusiasm. A big Nineteen Pounds weighted cake was prepared in Chiniot including pure Desi Ghee and dry fruits.
