Qatar seeks Pakistan Army’s cooperation in cyber security, defence production

Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani has acknowledged Pakistan’s role in developing and strengthening of their armed forces.

Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani expressed intend to learn from Pakistan Army’s experience in security domain and sought their assistance strengthening of their armed forces and sought assistance for the upcoming Football World Cup in Qatar, including provision of manpower.

In a meeting with Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa, who is an official visit to the middle-eastern country to Qatar met Al Thani, Commander Qatar Emiri Land Forces, Major General Muhammed Ali Ghanim Al Ghanim and Commander Qatar Emiri Guard, Major General Hazza Bin Khalil Al Shahwani, said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) in an official statement.

Qatari leader Sheikh Hamad Al Thani reiterated that both the countries shared a strong strategic relationship. The military’s media wing said that “The Emir thanked COAS for visiting Qatar, which strengthens the bond between two brotherly countries and armed forces,” the communiqué raid.

Al Thani acknowledged Pakistan’s contributions towards development and growth of Qatar.

He also hailed Pakistan Army’s contributions towards regional peace, adding that people of Qatar greatly value people of Pakistan and trust their time tested commitment for working in Qatar.

Pakistan and Qatar share strong strategic relationship, reiterated the Emir. He also acknowledged Pakistan’s role in development and strengthening of Qatar and its armed forces.

The Emir of Qatar appreciated Pakistan’s positive in promoting regional peace and stability. He commended the successes of Pakistan Army in its campaign against terrorism and militancy.

COAS thanked Emir of Qatar for his hospitality. Pakistan Army also looks forward for enhanced defence and security cooperation with Qatar, added the COAS.
