Dr Irshad said that collectively FBR’s Directorate General Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) Inland Revenues (IR) had recovered over Rs 6 billion from a couple Bashir Dawood and Maryam Dawood of the Dawlance Group.

After issuing notices to the owners of offshore firms, FBR, SECP, State Bank of Pakistan and other regulators have been under fire for not deliberating negligence in investigation into Panama case against heads of the ruling party.

Pakistan State Bank’s Governor Tariq Bajwa said that they were reviewing the names of Pakistanis mentioned in the leaks, adding that they would inquire into where the capital for the offshore companies came from. The central bank would see whether they had paid tax on the money, which was transferred or not, he said.
