First Pakistani female to finishes 22-day motorbike journey of Pakhtunkhwa

Gulafshan, a NUST graduate aims to promote peace and women encouragement in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Gulafshan Tariq becomes first Pakistani woman motorbike rider to concluded here 22-day journey to different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

A 24-years young Pakistani girl covered around three thousand kilometers across province in her 22 days journey to promote the message of Peace, women empowerment and tourism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Gulafshan, from Sargodha is a fresh graduate in software engineering from National University of Science and Technology (NUST). She managed to secure herself a mention in the National Book of Records by becoming the only woman bike rider to visit every district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit Baltistan.

While talking to the media after her 22-days journey, Gulafshan said, “I started my journey on May 6, and have already travelled most parts of KP on the rugged roads of the province. My travels have taught me a lot about the rich culture of the province”.

She added that it was her dream to travel on motorbike across the KP province and GB to promote soft image of Pakistan in the world.

She praised the hospitality of Pakhtuns, saying the people treated her with immense respect. She said her marathon bike ride would also give encouragement to women of Pakistan.

Her journey was sponsored by Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) on special instructions of PTDC Managing Director Ch. Abdul Ghafoor Khan.

Her 22-day tour included destinations like Dir, Chitral, Mastuj, Bumburet, Saidu Sharif, Malam Jabba, Kalam, Besham, Balakot, Shogran, Naran, Bobusar, Kohat, Harripur and Peshawar covering 1500 kilometres.

This adventurous and amazing motor ride will project soft image of Pakistan as a peaceful country and highlight tourist attractions of Pakistan to the world.

She thanked Managing Director PTDC for all the arrangements of her 22 days visit to different part of KP province made by Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation.
