The foreign minister also met with the Egyptian President and invited him on behalf of President Arif Alvi
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi met a group of investors and businessmen in Cairo and apprised them of the business opportunities in Pakistan. He emphasized the improvement in the ease of doing business rating of the country.
“Pakistan’s improved rating in terms of ease of doing business at international level depicts full confidence of the international community in the policies of the present government,” FM Qureshi said. “The existing brotherly relations between Pakistan and Egypt can be translated into strong bilateral trade and economic ties by exploring the true investment potential.”
President and CEO of Elsewedy Electric, Ahmed Elsewedy, met with the Qureshi in Cairo and expressed the company’s interest in investment in Pakistan.
“Pakistan is an emerging market and business companies from around the world are showing interest in investment in Pakistan due to prudent economic policies of the government,” the foreign minister said while talking to Elsewedy.
Qureshi also met Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and told him about “Pakistan’s shifting focus from geo-politics to geo-economics.” He also expressed the desire to further strengthen the brotherly ties between the two countries. Qureshi also extended an invitation to the Egyptian President on behalf of Pakistan’s President Arif Alvi, which he accepted.
