Munaf Kapadia is a 28-year-old Muslim hailing from the city of Mumbai. A brilliant student from the start, Munaf got MBA from his native country India and after working for a few years there he got an offer from Google.

However, after working for a few years for Google, he wished to explore better opportunities. Munaf left his job at Google to sell samosas.

Munaf’s mother Nafisa had a keen interest in watching cooking shows on television and is an excellent cook herself. Munaf Kapadia after leaving his job, he decided to open a food chain. He is taking tips from his mother in making and selling mutton samosas.

Munaf hails from the Bohri Community who are famous for their thaal, a platter that contains everything from mutton samosas to nargisi kebabs, dabba gosht, kaari chawal and a variety of other meals.

His restaurant is so famous that people wait in long queues to get their turn. Today his company The Bohri Kitchen has a turnover of Rs.50 lakhs and he got mentioned in the 30 under 30 Forbes List.

The Bohri Kitchen operates twice a week on Saturdays and Sundays and offers a 7-course meal consisting of an assortment of starter. It also boasts of celebrity customers like Ashutosh Gowariker, Farah Khan, Rani Mukherjee and Huma Quraishi.

Munaf is planning to expand and increase the yearly turnover to nearly ten times the current value in a few years. As Munaf has been featured in the Forbes under 30 list, he takes no credit for all the success, insisting that it was all possible because of his mother.
