Google Live Traffic updates now available in Pakistan

Must Read

ISLAMABAD – Pakistanis can now utilize the live traffic data on Google maps. The map indicates in green color routes where the traffic is moderate while heavy traffic is indicated by red color. The Google map displays construction zones as well.

You can find the map by typing “traffic” on the Google search engine.

It has been confirmed that the live traffic feed has been enabled for Islamabad and Lahore for now, while usual traffic details — such as traffic situation on a route for specific time — is enabled for almost all major cities.

Google’s live traffic feed is something highly anticipated by Pakistanis because of usual traffic jams on our streets. Sometimes the roads are closed because of construction and because of VIP movement without any information. So now with this application you can surely avoid crowded roads.

How to avail this option?

Screenshot-google-traffic-islamabadIf you are unable to check out this feature, it might be turned off for your device. Here is how you can turn it on:

  • Open the Google Maps app google-map.
  • Touch the menu in the top left corner.
  • Select Traffic.

Users can use the “search” feature to display traffic in a particular area. For example, a user may type into the search box: “traffic near Islamabad”, to see traffic for that city on the map.

Another feature uses historical data to show users the “typical traffic” for an area based on the time of day and day of the week. Google Traffic also displays “traffic incidents”, such as construction, accidents, and road closures. In addition, Google Traffic can be viewed while using Google Map’s “directions” feature.

Google Maps will show current traffic conditions on highways and roads where data is available.

What do color-coded Traffic in Google Maps mean?

Green represent normal speed of traffic, yellow means slower traffic conditions, and red indicates the slowest speeds. Grey indicates there is no data available. The more red the roads become, the slower the speed of traffic on the road.
