Govt announced to train one million youth under ‘DigiSkills’ program

DigiSkills program will upskill one million youth of the country in upcoming five years

Federal government has approved a master plane of providing skills training to one million youngsters across the country.  The youth will be giving training in area of Information Technology and freelancing under ‘DigiSkills’ Program.

In this regards, Minister of State for IT & Telecom Mrs Anusha Rehman at Ministry of Information and Technology presided Board of Directors National ICT R&D Fund meeting. Meeting was also attended by Federal Secretary IT Mr.Rizwan Bashir Khan, Member Telecom Mudasar Hussain, Member HR, CEO ICT R&D Mr. Yossaf Hassan and other board members.

Minister of State, Anusha Rehman said that establishment of new technology Incubation centers across all four provinces will be enabling young entrepreneurs to innovate while the DigiSkills Program will help them to earn reasonable livelihood as freelancers as well.

Minister of State said that our main policy focus is to provide quality digital and skill development training to youth of the country and MoIT is committed to provide them all appropriate fora and tools through which they can get quality training to succeed in the growing global freelancing market.

The Minister Mrs Anusha Rehman hoped that the digital expertise of youth will help them in attaining honorable employment in international freelancing market.

The agreement for the incubation centers in Lahore, Karachi and Peshawar has been signed with a chamber which is led by LUMS, TPL Trakker and LMKT respectively.

Board members have also approved re-tendering of National Incubation Center Quetta besides. These technology Incubation centers are being established in order to help youth to do business on modern lines.
