Hasan played 18 ODIs for Pakistan taking 48 wickets that include three five-wicket hauls

Pakistan pacer Hasan Ali has been named the ‘Emerging Player of the Year’ as part of the International Cricket Council – ICC Awards 2017.

While Pakistan’s national team famous Champion Trophy triumph was voted by fans as the ‘Moment of the Year’.

Hasan Ali won the ICC Men’s Emerging Cricketer of the Year Award for a breakthrough year in which Hasan emerged through the ranks, he also made his Test debut in 2007.

Hasan Ali played a key role in Pakistan’s maiden ICC Champions Trophy as he tore apart the batting departments of South Africa, South Africa, England and India.

He was also Player of the Series for his 13 wickets that helped Pakistan to Champions Trophy glory against India.

Twenty-three-year-old Hasan, the top-ranked ODI bowler, took 48 wickets in 21 matches during the calendar year 2017 at an average of just 17.70 per dismissal.

Hasan also claimed three five-wicket hauls and played a massive role in Pakistan’s Champions Trophy win in England making him a shoo-in for the emerging player gong.

In his video message Hassan Ali called this a major achievement for him, his career and for whole Pakistan and especially for young cricketers, who are coming to represent Pakistan and will boost their morale.

Other bowlers who have won the award in recent years include West Indian spinners Sunil Narine and Devendra Bishoo, England seamer Steven Finn and Australia paceman Peter Siddle.

Kohli was the fourth-highest run-scorer in Tests in 2017 and coupled with his superb year in ODI cricket, where he scored 1460 runs at an average of 76, earned him the top gong.

Meanwhile, Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan named as ‘Associate Player of the year’ award, Indian captain Virat Kohli won ‘Player of the year’, while Australian Captain was titled ‘Test Player of the year’ award 2017.
