Hungary wants closer economic ties with Pakistan, Minister says

Pakistan is looking forward to engagements at the expert level to further enhancing mutual trade

Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Peter Szijjarto said that his country is eager to further develop economic ties with Pakistan. He expressed these opinions at a diplomatic event in Islamabad. The Minister said his country gives special importance to this region due to cultural and historical similarities as well as security reasons. He further added that Hungary values and respects Pakistan’s efforts for regional peace.

Pakistan’s foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Pakistan is looking forward to a detailed engagement with Hungary at the experts’ level to benefit from its experiences in different areas including agriculture, water resource management, environment, and urban development solutions.

He said Pakistan is a huge market for the Hungarian companies to expand their businesses. There is opportunity for Hungarian waste management companies to invest in the country. He expressed the desire that business communities of both the countries will start greater trade and boost economic ties.

Businessmen from both countries also signed a number of Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) after the event.
