England have psychological advantage over Proteas due to their earlier win but the knockout round might prove to be mouth-watering contest

For the longest time, women’s cricket was all about England and Australia. But now other young teams are dominating in ongoing ICC Women’s World Cup 2017.

The ICC Women’s WC has been entered into Semi-final round where the first Semi-final match will be played between England vs South Africa today at Bristol.

Although, England might have the psychological advantage over Proteas due to their win in the group stage but the knockout round might prove to be a different ball-game altogether.

England used their wide experience has performed brilliantly, although having lost on the opening day of the World Cup against India on 24 June, England recovered well to build momentum and finish top of the group.

South Africa – undoubtedly the most improved side in the women’s game. South Africa skipper Dane van Niekerk has led from the front and is the highest wicket taker in the tournament with 15 wickets.

Both sides surpassed the 300 mark on that occasion, going on to make 678 runs in total and the highest cumulative score in women’s one-day international history.

The South Africans have a touch more variety through the middle, with the completely contrasting leg-spin styles of Sune Luus and their captain — the duo took seven Australian wickets last Saturday. Hence, a cricket spectator awaits mouth-watering contest between the team tonight.

On the other side, Australia will take on India in the second semi-final of ICC Women’s World Cup 2017 on July 20 at Derby.
