LAHORE (PPA) — As tension between India and Pakistan is growing rapidly the Indian Army in close cooperation with All Indian Radio has set up a 20KW Radio Station along the border with Pakistan in Amritsar to broadcast anti-Pakistan propaganda.
The range of this Indian FM Radio is 90 km and Indians hope to beam it over 50 km deep inside Pakistan. According to reports from India, the Radio will be broadcasting from 6 am to 12 pm and but Indian army psy-ops department wants it to extend the transmission for 24 hours.
The Indian Army run station would broadcast in Punjabi language and Saraiki languages aimed at spreading anti-Pakistan propaganda within Pakistan.
The tension is rising as Indian Government and defence officials are facing the wrath of Rafale scandal and Pakistani officials have warned against any Indian misadventure that may result in a full-scale war between two nuclear-weapon armed countries.
On September 22, 2018, Indian army chief General Bipin Rawat threatened Pakistan with what he called ‘retaliation’ over its alleged involvement in last week’s killing of a border guard and policemen in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK). Pakistan has denied any role and offered even joint investigation but India is reluctant to accept the Pakistani offer.
The remarks come a day after New Delhi called off a meeting scheduled for next week between the foreign ministers of Pakistan and India.
Pakistan reacts strongly to Indian threats
Indian Army Chief’s threat to Pakistan had a strong reaction from Pakistan Army spokesman Major General Asif Ghafoor advised India not to get into war-mongering as a ruse to deflect international challenges, giving a befitting reply to the neighboring country’s army chief over his reckless remarks of teaching Pakistan a lesson.
“Pakistan is a nuclear nation and is ready to give a befitting reply to any misadventure,” the Director-General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said while reiterating that Pakistan’s desire for peace should not be taken for weakness.
“Pakistan is a peace loving country and has played an unparalleled role as forces of peace in the region. We are on a positive trajectory of peace and stability after having gone through efforts over the last two decades. We understand the value of peace and shall not allow it to be reversed,” said the DG ISPR.
Responding back to the General Bipin Rawat’s threat of launching a ‘surprise attack’ on Pakistan, Gen Ghafoor warned India of stern military repercussions. He urged Indian army chief to abstain from deteriorating peace situation.
“War is never a solution to any problem. Pakistan has always positively responded to all peace initiatives. It’s India who backs out from the dialogue. For peace, a dialogue is the best course. This we always offer from the position of strength not weakness,” he added.
The head of military’s media wing also highlighted the fact that Indian army has been indulged in its country’s politics in the wake of corruption scandals.
Indian PM, NSA to meet top defence commanders
Meanwhile, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his National Security Advisor Ajit Doval are expected to meet the top defence officials on September 28, 2018, at a special meeting in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
This is a rare occasion when the conference of top Military Commanders, which will be attended by Army chief Gen Bipin Rawat, Navy Chief Admiral Sunil Lanba and Indian Air Force (IAF) Air Chief Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa.
The three Services chief would brief the Prime Minister and the Defence Minister on situation prevailing along International Border (IB) and Line of Control (LoC) with Pakistan, mainly in Jammu and Kashmir, Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China in five States of J&K, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh.
