Indian band win hearts by singing Pakistan’s national anthem as Independence Day gift

Indian music group sings Pakistan’s national anthem as gift to Pakistani nation on ongoing 70th Independence Day celebration.

Indian band – Acapella Band Voxchord consist of seven singers, who dedicated singing Pakistani national anthem in a capella style – without any instrumental music.

The two-minute music video by the band starts with the singers holding placards with a wishing message for Pakistan, “We’d like to dedicate a song for our neighbor, a song about faith, pride and grandeur, of power, progress and perfection”.

The band of singers includes, Vaishnavi Kannan, Vandana Mazan, Vagu Mazan, Bala Subramanyam, Brainard David and Alex Samuel Jenito. The song’s music was arranged by Alex Samuel Jenito and concept for a capella is by Bharadwaj.

The Indian band’s version of the Pakistani national anthem has earned much praise while some have stated that it is better than Coke Studio’s rendition.

It should be noted that Pakistan and India are at loggerheads since the partition in 1947 and disputes have led to full-scale wars between the two nuclear-powered countries.

Social media especially Twitterati on both sides of the border hailed the gesture, appreciating the powerful message of the music video and showered their loving gesture using tweets to describe their feelings.
