In the coming days, more transit ships are expected to dock at the Gawadar port

Gawadar started international transit activity with the arrival fish carrier containing 200 tons of fish from international waters. The fish will be shipped to China from the port. A dedicated Directorate of Transit Trade is established at Gawadar to ensure that the port is transformed into a major international transit trade hub.

Gawadar as a transit trade hub can help the people of Balochistan prosper in a relatively short period of time. It is important that all the stakeholders involved in the process ensure that facilitation is provided in this regard.

Pakistan Customs in a statement said that it has taken all the necessary steps for the facilitation of transit trade.

“This reflects the confidence of the international business community and shipping lines in the economic potential of the port and excellent trade facilitation measures put in place by Pakistan Customs,” the statement read. “Gwadar is the future of Pakistan and will help the country earn much-needed foreign exchange in the future.”

As per news, different cargo ships carrying LPG, steel pipes and DAP fertilizer for transit to Afghanistan will soon be docking on the port. This is indeed a major development for the locals as well as the people on Pakistan in general.
