Pakistan set to host first Islamabad Security Dialogue to robust policymaking

Prime Minister Imran Khan will launch the country’s first-ever security dialogue to unveil Pakistan’s new economic-strategic direction.

Islamabad Security Dialogue, being organized by National Security Division (NSD), will bring to light a comprehensive security framework in line with Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision of peace, regional connectivity and development partnerships with the world.

PM Imran Khan will launch the two-day conference (March 17-18) and Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Bajwa will be the keynote speaker on the second day of the dialogue.

The dialogue will bring together current and former officials, diplomats and domestic and global policy experts under one roof to debate Pakistan’s critical national security issues, and generate ideas shaping global society and the future of human civilization.

At the event, PM Khan will also launch the first-of-its-kind advisory portal of the NSD to bridge the traditional gap between public intellectuals and policymakers. The NSD portal will allow national think tanks and universities working on national security to directly offer policy recommendations to the government.

Islamabad Security Dialogue is a joint collaboration of NSD and the five leading think tanks in its advisory board comprising Center for Aerospace and Security Studies (CASS), Islamabad Policy Research Institute (IPRI), National Defence University (NDU)’s Institute of Strategic Studies, Research and Analysis (ISSRA), Institute of Strategic Studies (ISSI) and Institute of Regional Studies (IRS).
