Health Minister Shehram  Tarakai inaugurated the first E-ilaj Telemedicine center in Behali, Mansehra

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health department in collaboration with KP Information Technology Board launched the first E-ilaj Telemedicine Center in Behali, District Mansehra.

The tele-medicine centre will provide facilities to approximately 23,000 people of the area through online services and would be connected with a central control room in Peshawar.

According to sources the project has been launched as government was struggling to post specialised doctors at every Basic Health Unit of the far and flung areas of the province.

Under this facility the KP Govt provide services to cardiac problems, mother and child health, skin and ENT patients along with five specialised doctors would be made available 24/7.

KP Health Minister Shehram Khan Tarakai inaugurated the pilot project and assured that such centres would also be established in remote areas of the province to provide best healthcare facilities to masses at their doorstep.

The provincial health minister while addressing the ceremony said that project will be expanded to other districts in the near future to overcome the burden on tertiary care hospitals.

The KP government is focused on improving health care facilities across the province. He emphasised that technology intervention in key sectors is the only way forward for improving citizen services delivery.

The Government be aware of the importance of specialist healthcare services for all citizens of the province and reforms in this sector is a key agenda of the KP government on which major investment is being made.

The Center is fully equipped with diagnostic laboratory as well as electrocardiogram (ECG) for patients with cardiac problems.

Managing Director KPITB Dr Shahbaz Khan said the board would continue to act as a catalyst in digital transformation of K-P, making the province standout as a role model in E-Governance.
