Kuwait lifts its visa ban on Pakistan after six years

Pakistanis citizen willing to go Kuwait can now apply for Kuwait’s visa as the country has announced to lift its visa prohibition on Pakistan after six years.

This big announcement was made after a meeting held between Pakistan’s Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif and Kuwait’s amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al Sabah.

On meeting with Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber al Mubarak al Hamad al Sabah, at the royal palace, PM Nawaz fondly recalled the Kuwaiti PM’s visit to Pakistan back in November 2013 which coincided with the 50th anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic relations being established between the two nations.

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is visiting Kuwait upon the invitation of Amir of Kuwait along with a high-level delegation.

The head of both the countries also recap to collaborate and establish a joint council for business. Alongside, both the countries will work together on five different fields.

Before in 2011, Kuwait government had suspended all visas for tourism, visit and trade, Government also had banned visas sponsored by spouses for nationals of Syria, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan.

According to details, the ban was placed due to “difficult security conditions in the five countries” and to “the remarkably increasing tendency of nationals from the five countries to apply for visas to bring in relatives who faced or could face arrest by local authorities,” the sources said.

The Pakistani delegation included the Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi and Board of Investment Chairman Miftah Ismail.

Whereas, their counterparts were represented by Minister for Defence, the Minister of Finance, the Minister for Energy as well as other senior officials.
