Nokia Launches the 4G Version of the iconic 3310, which is remembered one of the largest successful sold phones with 126 million units throughout the worldwide.
The manufacturer HMD Global releasing another 3310 model that’s capable of connecting to superfast 4G LTE speeds will only be available in China in February.
Unlike the top-secret Samsung Galaxy S9, the 3310 4G has actually already been announced in China but isn’t confirmed for arrival elsewhere
However, the feature phone to be introduced in other countries, including the United States in late February or early March during the Mobile World Congress 2018.
This new device will be called Nokia 3310 4G and as the name suggests, this phone will be able to function on 4G bandwidth which is a major update when compared to the previous version.
The 4G friendly 3310 will look the same as last year’s model, but the software inside is reportedly improved over a Java-based platform to an Android-based operating system made by Chinese retail giant Alibaba.
The phone can make HD voice calls, is pre-loaded with apps and can turn into a WiFi hotspot, letting users connect to the internet no matter where they are. The 4G 3310 battery can handle phone calls for up to five hours on a single charge.
This model will only come in blue or black. Pricing details are not known, although, you can expect a $20-30 premium over the 3G version, which costs around $60.
Nokia used to be one of the world’s biggest mobile phone manufacturers but it fell behind with the advent of iPhone and Android smartphones.
The original Nokia 3310 sold 126 million handsets until it was phased out in 2005. In 2014, Nokia’s Devices and Services division was sold to Microsoft.
In 2016, Finnish company HMD Global bought a part of Microsoft’s feature phone business and has a licensing agreement that allows it to make smartphones under the Nokia brand.
