52 Palestinian children killed in the attacks by Israel
At least 182 Palestinians have been killed, including 52 children and about 1,200 were wounded in the Gaza Strip by Israeli forces, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
More than 10,000 Palestinians in Gaza have fled their homes since the violence began last week, the UN said Friday, adding that those displaced are “sheltering in schools, mosques and other places during a global COVID-19 pandemic with limited access to water, food, hygiene, and health services.”
On the Israel side, a total of seven people, including a soldier were killed.
The current escalation began after violence in Jerusalem that injured hundreds of Palestinians during protests over the forced displacement of seven Palestinian families in Sheikh Jarrah to make way for Jewish settlers in East Jerusalem.
Protests grew stronger across the Palestinian territories after Israeli police stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in the occupied East Jerusalem and assaulted worshippers.
