Pakistan to exhibit its main battle tank Al Khalid, JF-17 Thunder, Super Mushshak, K-8 aircraft and premium military hardware and related technology at IDEAS 2016 Expo
Around 90 delegates of defense ministers, defense secretaries and chiefs of services 30 top teams from 43 countries have already arrived to participate in 9th IDEAS 2016 – Pakistan’s premium defence expo.
According to Commodore Tahir Javed, media director of the Defence Export Promotion Organisation (DEPO), Ministry of Defence Production, said that the exhibition has been extended invitations to more foreign defense delegations, all new and previously exhibitors have positively responded.
The four-day event will include the inaugural ceremony, seminar, the governor’s reception, sideline conferences where exhibitors would brief the participants on their products and the concluding ceremony, he added.
“The inaugural day of the exhibition will be dedicated to officially invited delegations comprising senior officials of foreign countries, exhibitors and trade visitors from Pakistan and abroad,” he added.
Pakistan will exhibit its main battle tank Al Khalid, JF-17 Thunder, Super Mushshak, K-8 aircraft, Fast Attack Craft Missile boats, armoured personnel carriers, premium grade military hardware and related technology, Commodore Javed said.
Chinese and Turkish exhibitors have a significant presence and they have been allotted separate pavilions for their activities to exhibit their defence equipments. Russia is also participating in the event this time in a big way.
“In 2014, the russian Helicopters, participated for the first time was the only Russian design and manufacturing company Moscow. But this year the number of Russian exhibitors has also increased from one to three of last exhibition. Russian state-controlled arms’ import and export firm, Russia Rosoboronexport, is among them” Javed Commodore said.
Meanwhile SSP Erum Awan Briefed media on the traffic plan and alternative routes during rush hours, that Deputy Inspector General of traffic police had reviewed proposed arrangements and decided to open both the tracks of the Open University Road. The banners will be used to guide the citizens about planning a re-routing of traffic.
“It may be closed for a few minutes during VIP movement, but will be reopened soon after,” She added.
