PAF aircraft wins trophy at RIAT air show 2016 UK

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Air Force’s C-130 aircraft has won the Concours D’ Elegance trophy Air Tattoo Show 2016 at Royal Air Force Base Fair Ford UK.

PAF C-130 aircraft, specially painted to highlight the sacrifices of Pakistani people and the Armed Forces in Operation Zarb e Azb, and Pakistan’s role in eradicating the menace of terrorism from the world, arrived at Royal Air Force Base, Fairford (UK) to participate in the Royal International Air Tattoo Show-2016, which has become the centre of attraction and is drawing large crowds at the show.

Total 200 aircraft of 50 countries participated in the contest. However, the PAF C-130 stole the show with its attractive Zarb-e-Azb theme colours. Vice Air Chief Air Marshal Asad Lodhi also attended the show and congratulated PAF team over the achievement.

While talking to the PAF contingent he appreciated their untiring efforts for achieving this honor and said that this great achievement would go a long way in projecting the soft image of the country across the world.

Various documentaries and promos were also shown to the visitors regarding Pakistan Air Force which were appreciated by the people of all ages.

This is the second time the air force has won the prestigious trophy as PAF C-130 participated in the event in July 2006 as well and had won three major trophies in the competition.

The 2016 Air Show will be focusing on the future developments in the field of air power under the main theme \”The Next Generation: Inspiring Innovation\”.

The Air Tattoo, one of the UK’s premier outdoor events, returns this summer with an extravaganza of entertainment for all the family. Alongside the thrilling flying action, visitors were treated to non-stop entertainment on the ground – so whether a wide-eyed first timer or a seasoned airshow veteran, the experience is breathtaking.

The next Air Tattoo take places over the weekend of 14, 15, 16 July 2017.
