Pakistani American businessman Shahid Khan made it to the 66th spot in the Forbes list of the wealthiest 400 Americans with a total net worth of $7.8 billion. He is the owner of auto parts supplier Flex ’n’ Gate. He owns the NFL team Jacksonville Jaguars, making him the first ethnic minority owner in the league. He also owns the English Premier League football club Fulham FC which he bought in 2013. He also owns a wrestling league that he started a few years back.

Jeff Bezos continued to be on the top with a net worth of $179 billion. He was followed by former Microsoft CEO Bill Gates ($111 billion) and founder of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg ($85 billion). Elon Musk jumped 16 spots to reach the seventh place on the list. His net worth rose to $68 billion, an increase of more than $41 billion in one year. Musk owns automaker Tesla and space technology centric company SpaceX. U.S President Donald Trump occupies the 275th spot on the list.

Self-made billionaire

Shahid Khan is the wealthiest Pakistani in terms of declared worth. He went to use in the mid to late 1960s and went to engineering school. He had little in terms of financial resources and had to resort to odd jobs initially. After completing his studies, he joined Flex ’n’ Gate in the early 1970s. He bought the company in 1980 with his savings and a bank loan. His big success came when he improved open the existing design of car bumpers. Within a few years, he was supplying bumpers to some of the biggest auto manufacturers in the U.S. Since then he has gained from strength to strength and now has more than 50 production and research and development facilities across the globe.
