“On behalf of the government and people of Pakistan, as well as on my own behalf, I wished to extend my heartiest felicitations to you on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan,” Khan said.

“21st May 1951, the day when our relations were formally established, has been a watershed moment in our history. China’s State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi hoped that the vision of the leaders can be fully accomplished.  The vision includes “more extensive” and “deeper strategic cooperation” for a shared future in the new era.

Under the new circumstances, I am willing to work with Your Excellency to fully implement the consensus reached by the leaders of both countries, and to initiate higher quality, more extensive, and deeper strategic cooperation, and to step up our efforts in building an even closer China-Pakistan community of shared future in the new era,” he said.

Commemorative postage stamp unveiled

A commemorative postage stamp was also issued at the occasion by Pakistan Post. Federal Minister Murad Saeed called the relationship formidable and hoped that the ties will gain even more strength through the people’s connection. He also apprised the current status of a number of CPEC projects.

“Since its establishment on May 21, 1951, the relationship between both the countries has built on its strength of its successive achievements and has become formidable with each passing day and year”, Saeed said.

“We are working together under the leadership of Pakistan and China to further strengthen our bilateral and friendly relations. He said that this stamp was small in size but great in influence, adding that mutual understanding allows Pak-China to further move forward and promote people-to-people contact between the two brotherly countries.
