Pak-Nepal relations

Pakistan has time and again reaffirmed its support for Nepal’s sovereignty, peaceful development and territorial integrity.

Both are convinced that good understanding at the political level needs to be reinforced by mutually beneficial economic cooperation.

Moreover, with a view to promoting economic cooperation between the two countries, the Nepal-Pakistan Joint Economic Commission (JEC) at the level of finance ministers was set up in 1983 which has ever since held several meetings alternately in Islamabad and Kathmandu.

Pakistan wishes close ties with its neighbors

Earlier last month, during a meeting with Commander Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force Brigadier General Pilot Hamid Vahedi at the GHQ, the COAS had said that Pakistan wanted peaceful and close ties with its neighbors.

During the meeting, matters of bilateral interest, regional security situation and mutual cooperation between the two countries were discussed.

The COAS was quoted as saying Pakistan wanted peaceful and close ties with its neighbors and stressed the need for collective efforts towards regional stability. Both the countries agreed to enhance cooperation in the defense and security fields.
