Exercise Ataturk-XI was held at SSG Headquarters in Tarbela
Pakistani and Turkish special forces’ three-week-long joint military exercise concluded in Pakistan on February 21.
The closing ceremony of the Pakistan-Turkey joint military exercise “Ataturk-XI 2021” was held at Special Service Group (SSG) headquarters in Terbela.
The exercise includes counterterrorism, close quarter battle, cordon and search, rappelling, fire and move techniques, rappelling, compound clearance, hostage and rescue, and free-fall operations.
Pakistan Army’s Inspector General Training and Evaluation Lt. Gen. Syed Muhammad Adnan and a high-level military delegation from Turkey headed by Maj. Gen. Emre Tayanc attended the closing ceremony.
“The joint military exercise will further strengthen the bond of two brotherly nations and will help in adapting the emerging trends in military modernization and cooperation,” the statement said.
The Pakistan and Turkey joint commando and special forces exercise has been conducted alternatively between the two countries since 1998. The exercise is named ‘Jinnah Exercise’ when it is carried out in Turkey, and ‘Atatürk Exercise’ when conducted in Pakistan.
