An ally for the future

Pakistan’s relationship with Russia was badly affected by the Afghan war with Pakistan siding with the Afghans and eventually the Americans to protect its borders from a possible invasion from the former USSR. However, with the war now over for three decades and both sides having an opportunity to benefit from each other in many ways, it is only sensible to bury the old hatchet and look to better relations in the future.
