Two Hindu officers promoted to Lieutenant Colonel rank in Pakistan

Pakistan has appointed its two officers belonging to the Hindu community to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

Both the officers, Dr Kelash Kumar and Dr Aneel Kumar, belong to the Army Medical Corps. In 2019, they became the first Hindu officers in Pakistan Army to reach the rank of major.

Maj Dr. Kailash Kumar was born in 1981 and hails from Tharparkar. He graduated from the Pakistan Military Academy and was assigned to the army’s medical corps. Kumar completed his MBBS at LUHMS Jamshoro in Hyderabad and was then commissioned in the Pakistan Army.

Maj Dr. Anil Kumar was born in 1982. He is a resident of Badin and he got commissioned in Pakistan Army in 2007.

The Pakistan Hindu Council (PHC) warmly welcomed the promotion of officers. PHC patron-in-chief MNA Dr Ramesh Kumar Vankwani congratulated the two officers.
