People of Pakistan, being worst victims of terrorism over the years, share the grief of the people of the United States and stand by them in their pain and suffering
ISLAMABAD (Pakistan) – Pakistani people and government strongly condemn the abhorrent and tragic shooting incident in San Bernardino in the US state of California in strongest possible terms, Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
After a tremendous response by Pakistanis on media, including social media, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry has also issued a statement on Sunday condemning the shooting in California which killed 14 people.
“We offer sincere condolences to the families and friends of the victims in this act of terrorism. Our thoughts, prayers and deepest sympathies are with those who have been injured in the incident. We sincerely wish them an early recovery from their physical and mental trauma” the statement reads.

Pakistan realizes that the loss of precious lives in the tragic incident is irreversible and unfortunate but “Pakistan hope that the investigations would lead the US authorities to bring the perpetrators and abettors of this act to justice.”
The Embassy of Pakistan in Washington DC also conveyed its sincere condolences to the families and friends of the victims of San Bernardino shooting incident.
Although the investigation is under way, but according to reports US investigators suspect that a Pakistani-origin couple were behind the attack but the motive of attack remains unknown yet.
In the wake of the incident, the Pakistani-American community fear backlash from the society.
“The Pakistani-American community, in general, and the community organizations, in particular, join the Embassy in condemning the horrific act and share the grief and sorrow of the victims and their families,” the statement said.
The Embassy acknowledged the community’s role in the United States as being “law-abiding, peaceful and responsible” and appreciated them for expressing their solidarity with the families and friends of the victims of this tragedy.
“In this hour of grief the people of Pakistan, being worst victims of terrorism over the years, also offer their prayers and sympathize with the people of the United States and stand by them in their pain and suffering” the Embassy said.
Hours after San Bernardino shooting, Muslim community in United States condemned the attack. The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) called a press conference almost immediately after Muslims were named as suspects.
“We unequivocally condemn the horrific act that happened today,” Hussam Ayloush, the executive director of the CAIR office, said. “We offer our heartfelt prayers and condolences to the injured, to the families of those who have been killed. … We stand in mourning, in sadness, for what happened.”
