Pakistan, India agree to restore ceasefire at LoC after DGMOs talk

Pakistan, India DGMOs agree to address each others core issues and concerns 

In a rare development, Pakistan and India military officials have agreed to strictly observe a ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) and other sectors, according to ISPR.

The agreement was reached between the two countries after high-level talks between the director generals of military operations (DGMO) of the Pakistan and Indian military via the hotline on February 25.

Pakistan and India have agreed to address each other’s core issues and concerns, which have propensity to disturb peace and lead to violence.

“The two sides reviewed the situation along LOC and all other sectors in a free, frank and cordial atmosphere,” the official statement said.

Both sides agreed for strict observance of all agreements, understandings and ceasefire along the LOC and all other sectors, with effect from midnight 24/25 February 2021.

The two officials also reiterated that existing, mechanisms of hotline contact and border flag meetings will be utilized to resolve any unforeseen situation or misunderstanding.
