Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif dismissed the outburst as a political stunt

Pakistan has summoned the US ambassador David Hale in a rare public rebuke after Donald Trump angry tweet on Islamabad with threats to cut aid over “lies” about militancy.

Ambassador David Hale was asked to go to the foreign office in the Pakistani capital on Monday night after Islamabad responded angrily to the US President’s allegations that it provided safe havens for militants in the latest spat to rock their alliance.

Earlier in a withering attack, Trump said the United States had “foolishly” handed Pakistan more than $33 billion in aid in the last 15 years and had been rewarded with “nothing but lies and deceit and they give safe haven to the terrorists we hunt in Afghanistan, with little help. No more.

In response Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif dismissed the outburst as a political stunt and the United States should hold its own people accountable for its failures in Afghanistan.

Also, Vice Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (leading opposition party) and former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that matters of foreign policy must not be delivered through social media but should be debated in a proper setting.

On the other hand, PPP’s Senator Sherry Rehman who remained Pakistan’s ambassador to the US, stressed the need for Pakistan to have a balanced stance and not be too aggressive in replying to the US.

Islamabad has repeatedly denied the accusations of turning a blind eye to militancy, lambasting the United States for ignoring the thousands who have been killed on its soil and the billions spent fighting extremists.

Surprisingly, Former Afghan President Hamid Karzai has backed the Donald Trump’s statement wherein the latter accused Islamabad of providing safe haven to the terrorists.

Hamid Karzai has also called for establishing a joint US-regional coalition to pressure the Pakistani military establishment to bring peace to not just Afghanistan but the entire region.

President Trump’s tweet has created some unknown hate in Pakistanis and that’s why became a hot top as everyone and responded Donald Trump their own.

Pakistanis think they have given thousands of lives in the US war against terror, people also advise the government to stop getting US aids as early as possible, get out of the American’s war.
