Senior Kashmiri leader Syed Ali Gilani was awarded by Nishan-e-Pakistan for his lifelong services
Pakistanis across the globe today celebrated the 74th Independence Day with national zeal and fervor. Pakistan achieved its independence 73 years ago on 14th August as the British rule in the Indo-Pak subcontinent came to an end.
Leadership sends a strong message
Both Pakistan’s President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan congratulated their fellow countrymen on the Independence Day and paid their tribute for their resolve during the many difficult times faced by the nation. They also reiterated their support for the People of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJKC). Senior Kashmiri leader Syed Ali Gilani was awarded Nishan-e-Pakistan for his lifelong services for the people of Kashmir.
The president and premier reminded their Kashmiri brethren that Pakistan will do all in its power to help them gain independence from the cruel Indian occupation. Pakistan has been advocating the implementation of the UN Security Council’s Resolutions on Kashmir, giving the people the right to self-determination. India, however, purposefully is denying the rights of Kashmiris for more than seven decades now.
Flag hoisting ceremony
Flag hoisting ceremony took place in the Pakistani Consulate in Sydney. The Consul General Muhammad Ashraf hoisted the national flag in a low key ceremony due to the coronavirus. The celebrations across the globe were subdued due to the pandemic.
