ISPR’s new song on APS tragedy calls for avenging the victims of the deadly massacre by educating the enemy’s children

RAWALPINDI (Pakistan) – Ahead of the first anniversary of tragic terror attack on Army Public School (APS), Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has released a new song to pay tribute to the martyrs of APS who were killed in Peshawar attack on December 16 last year.

The new song by ISPR, the media wing of the Pakistan Army, is in the memory of martyred children and conveys a message to the enemies of Pakistan that the country will not give up and continue to educate people to get rid of the scourge of terrorism.

The main verse of the song is packed with emotions: “Mujhe Maa Us Se Badla Lenay Jana Hai, Mujhe Dushman Ke Bachon Ko Parhana Hai’ (Mother, I have to go and take revenge … Will educate the children of enemies). These verses send a powerful message that Pakistani children are not frightened and that they are more determined than ever to end the ignorance that the Taliban are mired in by teaching their children.

The moving new song emphasizes on the power of the pen and how it is mightier than sword. Much like its predecessor song by ISPR, ‘Bara Dushman Bana Phirta Hai Woh’, this song will also give you goosebumps and leave you in tears.

The song, which begins with the visuals showing a bus carrying the children to school, aims to avenge the deaths of 144 children by ‘teaching the children of enemies.’

Pakistan government has also announced to rename 122 schools and colleges of Islamabad after the Army Public School Peshawar Martyrs. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said the initiative is aimed at eliminating ignorance, extremism and intolerance from the society as well as to pay tributes to martyred students.

The attack on Army Public School Peshawar took place on the 16th of December, 2014 when a group of armed men entered the building and opened fire, killing 135 students along with members of the teaching and administrative staff.

In the aftermath of the attack, Pakistan lifted moratorium on death penalty, sending hundreds of death row convicts to gallows. DG ISPR, in his tweet on Saturday, had stated that 3400 terrorists have been neutralized in the 18 months of the operation.

Earlier in a press release issued on Saturday, the DG ISPR Lt-General Asim Bajwa said that last pockets close to Pak-Afghan border were being cleared. “Terrorists’ backbone broken and their main infrastructure dismantled and nexus with sleeper cells largely disrupted. Intelligence based operations (IBOs) are continuing to destroy remaining sleeper cells.”

The DG ISPR said that 3,400 terrorists had been killed, while 837 hideouts from where they were carrying out their terrorists activities destroyed, 92hdnews reported.

English translation of the song:

The place of pen is the same
But even his (enemy’s) name has gone

There’s some spot on the tip of the pen
Can the truth ever be stopped?

The childhood that had to last a little longer
That one (enemy) oh mother who snatched your dream
I have to go and seek revenge from him oh dear mother
I have to educate the children of the enemy

That one in your thoughts that doesn’t let you sleep oh mother
You kept crying while looking at the books oh dear mother

Whose return do you await…
Why does the father keep this door open?

The one who fell in everybody’s eyes
The one who wasn’t a human and had no God
I have to go seek revenge from him oh dear mother
I have to educate the children of the enemy

I have to go seek revenge from him oh dear mother
I have to educate the children of the enemy

The one that left smiling in front of fear
The one who has gone leaving behind his schoolbag

A strange story he wrote before leaving
He left a sign in the books…

The one that left the kissable forehead in blood
The one who killed the dreams

I have to go seek revenge from him oh dear mother
I have to educate the children of the enemy
