Pakistan’s 3G/4G users reach 37 million milestone

Pakistan witnessed a rise of 8 million 3G/4G Subscribers during 2016

Pakistan 3G or 4G internet subscribers’ increased by 8 million, according to Pakistan Telecommunication Authority‘s estimates of last two months of 2016. According to the released report measured till end of 2016, Pakistan’s 3G or 4G subscribers have reached the milestone of 37.57 Million.

In comparison with PTA stats by end of November, total Pakistan’s 3G or 4G recorded subscribers were 36.41 million The PTA report statistics witnessed the efforts of Pakistani mobile operator’s about digital Pakistan initiatives and providing the best ecosystem in the country.

The PTA report reveals the annual arise, the data shows that the number of 3G or 4G subscribers increased from 29 million in 2015-2016 to 37 million by end of December, which shows 8 million in last six months.

PTA Report recorded in smooth increase in Mobilink 3G Subscribers, the number of 3G users of Mobilink, reached 12.326 million by the end of December as compared to 12.148 million by the end of November.

Zong 3G plus 4G Subscribers increased from 7.134 million by end of December 2016 as compared to 6.824 million and Telenor 3G Subscribers by December end recorded 9.897 million from 9.504 million by end November.

After continuous decline for last few months, 3G users of Ufone also witnessed an increase. The users increased from 5.219 million in November to 5.305 million by end of December 2016.

Warid LTE subscribers reached 637,363 by end December 2016 against 635,054 by end of November 2016.

In addition to the 3G or 4G subscribers, the report  witnesses the number of mobile phone users in Pakistan reached 136.49 million by end of December 2016 from 135.87 million by end of November, and registered an increase of around 0.62 million during the period under review.

Teledensity for cellular mobile reached 69.80% and mobile broadband subscribers reached 40,147,991 by end December as compared to 39,023,370 by end November 2016.
