Pakistan’s Single Country Exhibition kicks off in Colombo

After successfully organizing the similar event in 2016 and 2017, the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) in association with the High Commission of Pakistan in Sri Lanka is organizing “Pakistan Single Country Exhibition in Colombo from January 12 to 14, 2018 for the third consecutive year.

Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena along with Minister for Commerce Mohammad Pervaiz Malik and High Commissioner of Pakistan in Sri Lanka Dr Shahid Ahmad Hashmat inaugurated the 3rd edition of Pakistan Single Country Exhibition.

According to official sources of Pakistani High Commission, the Pakistan Single Country Exhibition aims to provide a platform to the Pakistani companies for showcasing their range of products and services to the Sri Lankan public and the business community.

While addressing to the inauguration ceremony Pakistan’s Minister for Commerce Mohammad Pervaiz Malik said that Pakistan and Sri Lanka have excellent diplomatic and economic relations and for Pakistan, Sri Lanka is amongst the top focus countries for greater trade relations.

The Exhibition includes Pakistani organizations and manufacturers of Engineering Products, Auto Parts, Agro Products, Textile and Clothing, Designer Wear, Handicraft and Traditional Textiles, Cosmetics and Herbal Products, Pharmaceuticals, Cutlery, Gems and Jewellery, Furniture, Carpets, Marble and Services.

According to High Commissioner of Pakistan Shahid Ahmad Hashmat, the main exhibition contributes to promoting Pakistan-Sri Lanka economic relations by diversifying the existing trade patterns, hence introducing a wide range of quality Pakistani products in the Sri Lankan market with prominent business and trade sectors.

He also established special stall on the spectacular Gandhara and Buddhist Heritage of Pakistan, where people would be able to witness the splendid Legacy of Pakistan.

The event was attended by Sri Lankan ministers, parliamentarians, several important personalities from Lankan business and trade sectors along with diplomatic corps and a large number of people from different walks of life
