Prime Minister Imran khan, will address a historically huge public rally on March 27 in Islamabad, one day ahead of the no-confidence motion moved by the opposition against him, announced the senior PTI minister, Asad Umer.

“Kaptaan [Imran Khan] has taken a final decision on D-chowk public gathering in Islamabad. God willing, a historic rally is going to take place on March 27,” Asad Umar, federal minister for planning and development, tweeted shortly after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party’s core committee meeting that was led by the prime minister himself.

“The world will see how Pakistani people stand by their Kaptaan for their independence and integrity,” he added.

Khan started the chain of addresses to public rallies in various cities to gather the support of the public soon after the key opposition parties of the country moved the no-trust motion against him in the National Assembly Secretariat last Tuesday, accusing the PM of poor governance since he took charge of the top political office of the country in August 2018.

Speaking to a rally in the Lower Dir district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Khan promised to garner a “sea of people” in front of the parliament building a day ahead of the no-confidence vote.

The PM has assigned the task to his party leaders to gather at least one million people in the federal capital one day prior to the no-trust voting.

In a recent tweet, Senator Faisal Javed Khan also wrote that the voting on the no-confidence motion would take place after March 27 when the PTI would hold “the biggest rally in the history of Pakistan … at Azadi Chowk, Islamabad.”

“Prime Minister Imran Khan will deliver a historic speech,” he said. “The opposition will face absolute defeat in the no-confidence motion.”

PTI’s complete trust in allies:

Talking to a news conference on Monday, foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi stated that PTI had “complete trust” in its allies in the federal government: the Grand Democratic Alliance, Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q), Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P).

“I have been constantly saying and will repeat today that I, as a political worker, believe that all our allies … [are with us and] and my party and I have complete faith in them,” he told reporters. “We believe they are very refined and honorable people. They have supported us at various points in these three years and we were, are and will remain thankful to them.”
