PM Nawaz inaugurates first section of Karachi-Hyderabad Motorway

Governor Sindh Mohammad Zubair and Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah received the prime minister on his arrival.

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif inaugurated the completed section of Motorway linking Karachi to Hyderabad (M-9) at Karachi.

The inaugurated section is the first phase of seventy five kilometer long completed portion of Karachi-Hyderabad motorway M-9. The 75 kilometer of the 136-kilometre Motorway has four interchanges, including Dada Bhoy, Industrial Valley, Nooriabad and Thano Bola Khan Interchange.

While addressing to inauguration ceremony PM Nawaz Sharif has emphatically stated that all the promises made in the election manifesto will be fulfilled while Pakistan was on the brink of bankruptcy three years ago.

“We spent day and night trying to strengthen the economy. Bridges interchanges and service roads are being built. On the other side work on the Multan-Sukkur motorway has been initiated, building the nation is not a game. When we took the control of the country, we were in a sorry economic state. There were youngsters with skills but no one to employ them. In such times, there are negative forces that try to mislead these youngsters.” PM added.

“Electricity had abandoned us, as if it was unhappy with is. But we have started bringing it back to Pakistan. 1,000 megawatts will be added to the grid this year,” he said signaling the government’s intent to rely more on renewable energy.

After the inauguration, the prime minister will visit the home of former Sindh Governor Late Saeed-uz-Zaman Siddiqui to express condolences with his son Afnan Siddiqui.
