President, Prime Minister send strong messages on Defense Day

Both the President and the PM reiterated Pakistan’s ability to defend its soil

The nation is celebrating the 55th Defense Day today. On this day in 1965, India forces attacked Pakistan in an attempt to enter Lahore and capture major Pakistani territories. However, the high spirited Pakistani armed forces were able to blunt the attack and enter into some of the areas on the Indian Territory.  

President sends a strong message

President Arif Alvi, on the occasion of Defense Day, said that Pakistan would never compromise on its sovereignty and security. Any ill designs from the enemy will be dealt with, in the strongest of manners.  

“It makes me happy to state that we have achieved self-reliance in the defence field […] We have thwarted external aggression; we have successfully defeated terrorism and extremism, and now we are on the path towards economic prosperity,” Alvi said.

“The spirit of September 1965 still lives in our hearts and I can proudly say that because of this, we have been successful in many testing times. Our armed forces’ professional excellence, combat readiness, and above all their unwavering faith in Allah has made Pakistan invincible,” he added.

Prime Minister bats for peace, warns against misadventures

Prime Minister Imran Khan said that Pakistan’s wants peace but this desire should not be misconstrued as its weakness. He also said that the armed forces of Pakistan are “fully capable” of defending the country.

“The resilient nation and the battle-hardened armed forces of Pakistan have time and again proved that they are fully capable of defending the country and are fully prepared to meet any kind of eventuality,” the premier said via Twitter.

COAS lays floral wreath at Martyrs Memorial

Chief of Army Staff Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa attended a ceremony in the honor of the martyrs of 1965. The ceremony took place in the General Head Quarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi at the Martyrs Memorial. The COAD laid a floral wreath and offered Fateha.
