A ceasefire was necessary to “resolve the most pressing humanitarian issues” in Ukraine, he added.

Since the beginning of the conflict in last week on February, Turkey has been participating in active diplomatic efforts to bring the two sides together, Çavuşoğlu told the media. Maintaining its neutral and balanced stance, Ankara offered to host peace talks between the two sides to help de-escalate the conflict. Meanwhile, Mykhailo Podolyak, advisor to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, lauded Turkey’s mediating efforts, hoping that the ongoing negotiations will be fruitful.
