Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman appointed as prime minister

Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz named his son and heir Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman as the kingdom’s prime minister and his second son Prince Khalid as defense minister, according to a royal decree published by the official Saudi Press Agency.

Prince Mohammed is already the de facto ruler of Saudi Arabia.

King Salman’s another son Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman retained his post as the energy minister of the country.

The ministers who retain their portfolios include Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Finance Minister Mohammed al-Jadaan, Investment Minister Khalid al-Falih, and Interior Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud.
